Book Review: The Twelve by Parker Bradley (Zephaniah)

Fri, 26 May 2023

Welcome to our monthly book review for, The Twelve- A Transformational Journey Through The Minor Prophets, by Parker Bradley.  Drawing from the insights of the Minor Prophets in the Bible, The Twelve, is an encouraging, but also challenging resource for followers of Jesus, and anyone wanting to honestly understand how God reveals Himself in Scripture.

We covered the chapter on Habakkuk, last month, and are covering the chapter on Zephaniah in this episode.  Parker calls this chapter, God Versus the God We Make Him Out to Be.

Program: The Seventh Day Discussion Series

Fri, 26 May 2023

Hi everyone, if you are listening to this on the Sabbath, then I’d like to wish you a glorious Sabbath rest!

Last week, I reviewed, The Seventh Day, a five part documentary about how keeping the fourth commandment, the 7th day of rest, has been preserved, worldwide, throughout the history of mankind.

There is a discussion series that was made about The Seventh Day documentary. The presenter, Pastor Dwight Nelson, interviews the Executive Producer

Pat Arrabito and James (Jim) Wood, the Writer.  It’s in five parts, as it discusses each part of the five part documentary.  It gives extensive and supplementary information for the documentary. I found the discussion series really interesting, encouraging and inspirational.

Scripture References:
Matthew 24:19 (fleeing to the mountains)
1 Corinthians 2:9 (our hope of eternity with the Lord)

Program Review: The Seventh Day

Fri, 19 May 2023

Hi everyone, if you are reading to this on the Sabbath, then I’d like to wish you a wonderful Sabbath rest, in the Lord.

Last week, I had a last minute change in plan in my program review.  Instead of a nature program, I felt that the Lord put it on my heart to watch and review, Return to Genesis, presented by Mike Snavely of the ministry Mission Imperative.  While doing the review for last week, I felt the Lord impressed me to emphasis the need to keep the Sabbath, as Mike Snavely had mentioned Sunday worship. This resulted in me noticing a program, The Seventh Day - don’t ask me how, I wouldn’t be able to explain it.

The Seventh Day is a five part documentary about how keeping the 4th commandment, the 7th day of rest, has been preserved, worldwide, throughout the history of mankind.  From the time God set it aside and made it holy in Genesis 2:1-3, right after He finished the creation, to our present day.

Scripture References:
The Sabbath - Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Isaiah 66:23, Matthew 5:17-18, Revelation 12:17, 14:7 (only a few references as there are so many).

It’s a huge batch of two min videos about all aspects of God’s creation.  We have progressed onto the third season, which is about a variety of subjects, that gives the glory to our Heavenly Father.  Please join me as I review the last batch of videos for the third season of Creation Moments.

Scripture References
1 Corinthians 1:20 (the wisdom of this world)
Job 36:27-28 and Ecclesiastes 1:7 (the water cycle)
