Hollow Weenie Roast 2

Mon, 25 Oct 2021
Yet another Hallow's Eve is upon us! Ghastly ghouls and goblins abound, and goblets filled with potions and penny candy are everywhere!!! This year, we decided to set two of the scariest and beware-iest bands in Rock & Roll against each other in a fierce faceoff of freaky fun!!!
Markus (The Cramps) and Ray (Type O) trade razorlike riffs and growling scowls as they fill the night with howls and the screech of owls! Fear the clown, the balloons, and the songs in between volleys of heavy-hitting tunes!
There are no winners at this Weenie Roast Battle, only hollow hulls of pods and people lost to the corn and the great wide stoopid! So grab a popcorn ball, and just like Frank N. Furter said, "Come on up to the lab!"

Track by track, it's a wild ride, even when it's a podcast! Have fun!

Renaissance: From Yardbirds To Progressive Giants!

Mon, 11 Oct 2021
As the ending of Renaissance's amazing run drew close, the current band recorded a live concert for a box set to mark 50 years. It was meant to set the table for a final tour run, and then the pandemic hit, skewing all plans in all areas of life. Shows were postponed, and lockdown ensued.
During that time, Annie Haslam pushed forward to finish the band's 50th anniversary box set! A double CD, DVD and BluRay box set, with beautiful art, (made by Haslam herself) is the result!

Before her world, and many others whirl completely back to life, we caught up with the voice of so many amazing songs to discuss Renaissance, their long history, the new box set, the final stretch of the road, and so much more!

Public Enemy: Number One!

Mon, 04 Oct 2021
Coming together out of the fertile environment of Adelphi University and its college radio station, Public Enemy burst forth with a wall of power, a collective that changed Hip-Hop and helped forge an unholy alliance with Metal! Their song, "Fight The Power" played an actual role in Spike Jones' "Do The Right Thing," which put the group on the radar of a much wider audience.
In this week's adventure, we explore the band's roots as a loosely associated group of artists who converge via WBAU, coalescing as The Bomb Squad, with unreal "solid work" being set off. It's a rambling, veering off-kilter look at PE, who have been part of both Imbalanced Brothers' musical life!
Hats off to the samplers, the DJs scratchin' it out, the MCs sayin' it! Give it up for The Funky Drummer!!!

Bessie & The Wolf

Mon, 27 Sep 2021
Profiles In The Blues is a new umbrella concept on the podcast! In the initial episode, the Imbalanced Brothers delve deeper into the subjects of Bessie Smith, The Empress Of The Blues, (who's been mentioned before), and Chester Burnett's alter ego, Howlin' Wolf!
She was The Empress Of The Blues, he was the Howlin' Wolf, both amazing forces of musical nature in their own unique way! These two under-appreciated American artists are part of the legacy that this podcast was founded to spotlight. While there will be many more episodes in this arena, we invite you enjoy this ep, and then dig back for our stories, and three episodes, about Robert Johnson, if you find the time!
