Episode 1083: Bullfrog's_Roadhouse_5th_December_2025- Duration: 02:09:16)

Sat, 06 Dec 2025

Ahoy Froggers,
In October 2025 we did a lefties guitarist show and on that show we gave you Pioneer Elizabeth Cotton. In November we gave to you Cordell Jackson  who was an American guitarist thought to be the first woman to produce, engineer, arrange and promote music on her own rock and roll music label. After installing recording equipment in her home in 1947, and today we add to that growing list by adding Peggy Jones AKA Lady Bo to our growing list. Lady Bo , was one of the first (perhaps the first) female rock guitarists in a highly visible rock band, and was sometimes called the Queen Mother of Guitar, and then after her was Norma-Jean Wofford. We are talking the late 1950’s for Lady Bo.
For all the fans of our Favourite Irishman check out MKO with a couple of Rory’s old band mats joining up with Davey Knowles.
We continue to some new Faces releases. This one is from last year (2024) but is 8Cd and 1 blue ray dvd from there appearances at the BBC and the cd packaging is quite impressive.
Roosevelt Collier the pedal steel guitar player we played for the first time is back with this weeks BFRH long song of the week and we went with a BFRH fave as this weeks BFRH Hammond B3 player of the week Earl Gilliam,  A few oldies but goodies thrown in for old times sake.
RIP to Steve Cropper who passed away after the show was put together, that is why Green Onions is at the very end with no back announce

Thanks for your support.
Please listen, share, like, follow. Etc
Hooorooooo

Episode 1081: Eclectic Avenue 251203 Mute and Continue

Wed, 03 Dec 2025

Bernie, Sandy and Michael continue to tackle the randomly selected themes from the box of oblique strategies.  This episode the theme is Mute and Continue.  In his research Bernie came across a label called Mute Records and so he delved into their back catalogue of published albums for the show.  Sandy plays tracks from posthumous albums that were record before the death of a musician.  And Michael ridicules his own take on the theme but plays a number of great songs from the past, all of which have a long instrumental introduction (more than one minute).  Our next show, in two weeks, is the renowned and much anticipated Christmas Extravaganza.
