Online Dating as a Christian

Mon, 11 May 2026
Online dating apps promise instant connection and a world of possibilities, but for a Christian, swiping right requires a high level of discernment and caution. In this honest and practical episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn tackles the unique pitfalls of navigating the digital dating world while honoring your faith. While technology can be a bridge to meeting new people, it can also lead you astray if you are not careful. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how to protect your heart and your security while trusting in Gods perfect timing for your life.

One of the first red flags we discuss is the rushed relationship. If someone is pushing for a quick commitment or deep emotional intimacy before you have truly gotten to know them, it is a sign that they may not share your values or respect your boundaries. Proverbs 4:23 instructs us to guard our hearts above all else, and in online dating, that means taking the time to pray and discern a person’s true intentions. We also look at the dangers of deception, such as fake profiles or half-truths that are common on these platforms. By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will learn why it is essential to hold firm to the wisdom of 2 Corinthians 6:14. An unequal yoking can lead to significant spiritual and emotional hurt, so never compromise your core beliefs just for the sake of a connection.

The great thing about technology in 2026 is that we have more tools than ever to spot potential scams and fakes. Amy Lynn shares how to use reverse image searches to see if a person’s photos have been used elsewhere or are entirely fraudulent. This is a tactic she has used even on professional networks to weed out scammers. We also dive into a unique tip from her book: if something truly feels off, do not be afraid to do a thorough search, including checking local obituaries, as it is often a place where hidden details like an existing marriage are hard to hide. Furthermore, we address the critical rule of digital safety: never send money to anyone you have not met in person, regardless of their sob stories about robberies or hard times.

Trusting your gut is a form of listening to the Holy Spirit. In this episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we offer biblical wisdom alongside everyday faith and tech steps to help you date securely. Stay prayerful, set firm boundaries, and remember that you are a treasure worth protecting. If you have been feeling hopeful yet cautious about the world of online dating, let this episode provide the guidance and peace you need to swipe with discernment. Tune in now for the faith and tech wisdom that helps you navigate the search for love without losing your way or your witness.

No Spirit of Fear Online

Mon, 27 Apr 2026
Have you ever had that moment where someone tags you in a blatant lie, a stranger threatens you in your DMs, or a massive pile on starts in your mentions? Your hands begin to shake, your heart races, and you find yourself tempted to delete the post and disappear into silence. In this bold and empowering episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn identifies that feeling for what it truly is: a spirit of fear. But according to 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we discuss how to use your digital settings and your spiritual authority to stand firm when the timeline is on fire.

God gave you power, and that includes the power to take decisive action in your digital environment. We explore how the same power that raised Christ from the dead now lives in you, giving you the strength to hit block, restrict, or report without a second thought. You do not owe every troll a reply, and you certainly do not owe them access to your peace. We discuss practical tech tools like turning on comment filters and taking screenshots for your protection. By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will learn that using these features is not an act of weakness, but an act of stewardship over the digital space God has given you to influence.

We also dive into what it means to have a heart of love and a sound mind in a toxic online world. Love is what keeps you from becoming bitter and mean like those attacking you; it allows you to pray for your enemies while maintaining a strong spine. Meanwhile, a sound mind gives you the clarity to step away from the screen when things get heated. It means refusing to refresh your mentions at two in the morning or arguing with anonymous accounts that were created yesterday. You have the sound mind to remember exactly who you are and, more importantly, Whose you are. Technology is the device you use to block the fear, but the Holy Spirit is the one who provides the courage to post anyway.

The enemy wants you scared, silent, and isolated, but God calls you to walk in the fullness of His gifts. In this episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we offer biblical strength and practical faith and tech steps to help you overcome cyberbullying and intimidation. Fear is a liar, and you already have exactly what you need to shine your light in the darkness. If online hate has tried to steal your voice, let this episode provide the encouragement you need to stand up and keep moving forward. Tune in now for the faith and tech wisdom that replaces digital anxiety with spiritual power, love, and a sound mind.

Honor the Badge Honor the King

Mon, 13 Apr 2026
A police officer stopping you at night, especially when you are alone, can cause your heart to race and a spike of frustration to set in. In this powerful and practical episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn shares a personal nighttime encounter that transformed from a moment of annoyance into a moment of blessing. While walking home with earbuds in, she was stopped by an officer simply doing his job. Rather than reacting with defensiveness, she leaned into the Holy Spirits whisper of Romans 13:1, which instructs us to be subject to governing authorities because all authority is established by God. By choosing a calm response, the interaction ended positively in mere seconds, leaving both parties respected.

In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how everyday technology habits can help you show honor and de-escalate these situations in real time. We live in an era of body cams and digital IDs, and how we handle our devices during a stop matters. Amy Lynn offers three essential tips: first, silence your phone with one swipe and place it screen down to eliminate glowing distractions and sudden movements. Second, if you do not carry a physical wallet, use your phones flashlight or a notes app for clear visibility when showing your ID. Third, always verbally announce your actions. Saying Officer, my ID is in my pocket, may I reach for it? creates a bridge of communication and safety.

These tiny habits align perfectly with the biblical mandate found in 1 Peter 2:17 to show proper respect to everyone and honor the king. In 2026, the king often wears a badge, and our respect is not necessarily an agreement with every stop, but a reflection of our trust in Gods bigger plan. By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will discover how to let your actions preach peace before you even say a word about your faith. We discuss how leveraging digital ID storage and maintaining visible, calm hands can turn a tense encounter into a testimony of grace and character.

Respect is a choice of peace over pride, and technology can either be a distraction or a tool to help us maintain that peace. If you have ever felt tense during a police interaction or simply want practical ways to honor authority in a modern world, this episode provides the biblical truth and the everyday steps you need. We also want to extend a special thank you to the Detective of the Mesquite, Texas Police Department, whose service inspired the heart of this message. Tune in now for the faith and tech wisdom that keeps everyone safe, honors the badge, and ultimately glorifies the King of Kings.

Your Battery is Swelling

Mon, 30 Mar 2026
Have you ever seen a phone battery begin to swell? It is a startling sight as it pushes the screen up from the frame and pops the back cover off, looking as if it is about to rupture at any moment. Every tech website and expert will give you the same urgent warning: Replace it now because it is dangerous. In this inspiring and unique episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn takes this alarming image and flips it into a powerful picture of a growing faith that simply cannot be contained. Lithium batteries swell because they are holding more energy than their physical case was ever designed to contain. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how the power of the Holy Spirit does the exact same thing to a believer.

Jesus gave us a glimpse of this explosive potential in Matthew 17:20, where He promised that faith as small as a mustard seed could move mountains and make the impossible possible. When real faith starts growing in your life, you will feel it. There is a sense of pressure, heat, and stretching. While the world might mislabel this as stress and the enemy might try to call it a warning light of failure, the Bible identifies it as the dunamis power of the Holy Spirit. According to Acts 1:8 and Ephesians 3:20, God is working exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think through the power that works within us. Your old container, your old habits, and your old limits simply cannot hold the weight of what God is doing.

By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will see how this principle plays out vividly on social media timelines. We discuss how pretenders can only fake a digital identity for so long before the truth of their heart leaks out through anger or bitterness. However, when a believer is being overfilled by Jesus, something entirely different leaks into the digital world. You start to see constant gratitude, spontaneous scripture in the comments, prayers for strangers, and worship that happens in the middle of the night. You literally cannot shut it up because the Kingdom of Heaven is leaking all over everybody's feed. This is the evidence of a soul that has outgrown its previous boundaries.

While a swollen phone battery is bad news for your hardware, a swollen believer is the best news the world has ever had. When you are overfilled by the Spirit, you do not explode and destroy; instead, you overflow and restore. In this episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we encourage you to embrace the stretch and the pressure of spiritual growth. Every post, every conversation, and every encounter becomes an opportunity for Jesus to leak out and touch a hurting world. If you have been feeling an uncontainable joy or an unusual pressure lately, tune in now for the faith and tech truth that turns your internal stretch into external strength and contagious revival.

Podcasthon - Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn

Mon, 16 Mar 2026
I am deeply honored to participate in the fourth edition of Podcasthon! For one week, more than a thousand podcasts are coming together to highlight a charity of their choice, and today, I am sharing the incredible work of Stand in the Gap Ministries. In our society, there are many gaps where families and communities have sometimes failed to provide the support needed. As God's people, there is only one faithful response to a gap: we must stand in it. In this special episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how Stand in the Gap Ministries empowers people through healthy relationships, education, and prayer to achieve true self reliance. They follow the wisdom that if you teach a person to fish, you feed them for a lifetime.

Stand in the Gap is a ministry on a mission that is constantly expanding and adapting to changing times. They have even partnered with the YouVersion Bible app to provide regular spiritual support to widows regardless of their location. By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will hear touching personal stories of what it looks like to stand in the gap in everyday life. Amy Lynn shares about the year her neighborhood was buried in snow when she was just twelve years old. By simply picking up a shovel to clear a path for an elderly neighbor and her dogs ramp, a lifelong relationship was formed that eventually led to Amy Lynn becoming her caregiver. It was a blessing that allowed her to learn the history of her area while providing vital help.

We also look at the times when others have stood in the gap for us. Amy Lynn recalls the physical, emotional, and mental support her cousin provided after the passing of her father. These moments of grace are what build up the walls of our communities. Drawing from Ezekiel 22:30, we see the urgency of this call: God looks for someone to stand in the gap so the land is not destroyed. In our busy digital lives, it is easy to overlook the needs around us, but we are called to do better and be better for our loved ones, neighbors, and strangers alike. Whether it is through a small act of kindness or a larger commitment of time, every effort matters.

If you have free time and a heart for helping others, we encourage you to check out Stand in the Gap Ministries today. This episode offers exciting faith and tech inspiration to help you find ways to bridge the gaps in your own community. We also invite you to visit podcasthon.org to discover hundreds of other amazing causes being highlighted this week. As 2 Corinthians 9:7 reminds us, God loves a cheerful giver of time, resources, and heart. Join Amy Lynn for this special Podcasthon episode and find the courage to stand in the gap for someone today.
